I'm Lim Yi Qian, a Chinese Media and Communication undergraduate at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I have a deep interest in video production and editing, and I hope to be able to tap into the skills and experiences I have while contributing back to the society.Driven by my outgoing and enthusiastic personality, I am highly passionate and motivated to learn as an individual. I would like to describe myself as compassionate, dependable, perceptive and a team player as I hope to apply my experiences, skills and knowledge I have attained through these three years in my course of study to guide those around me. Being a media student, I had various opportunities of working with different team members and it has taught me many valuable skills such as leadership, communication skills and being an effective listener. I believe that being an effective leader is to first become an effective listener. This belief has helped me establish a good rapport with those around me and I am elated to be able to create a sense of trust while fostering new bonds with them! Venturing the ups and downs of my education, it has further helped me to better understand and gain insight about my ongoing industry. Having been involved in the different fields of the media industry, alongside my volunteering opportunities, I have discovered a passion of wanting to fully utilise the skills and knowledge I am equipped with. However, I believe growth goes way beyond with what I know, hence I am motivated to further deepen and hone my media skill sets. My experiences has also allowed me to gain more exposure and enriched my learning, refining both my interpersonal and hard skills.
