Gangstas Making Astronomical Community Changes (G-MACC Inc.) is a 501C3 non-profit organization that deals with gun and gang violence through interruption and prevention techniques. ________________________________________________________________________________________________- G.-M.A.C.C Inc. works with formerly incarcerated men and women, helping them make the proper transition into society to become productive and positive people of change.- G-M.A.C.C Inc. works with youth to assist them in dealing with the issues that surround them. We help them to change direction from gang/gun violence toward a more productive, positive lifestyle.

- Work to build a base of community support for the program and coordinate regular mobilization and public education activities. - Provide outreach to community agencies (including faith-based community leaders, residents, businesses and organizations) and on-going work to establish and strengthen relationships. - Lead in organizing responses to all shootings and killings that occur in the targeted catchment area within 72 hours of receipt of notice of the shooting or killing. - Lead in organizing a minimum of one anti-violence community activity per month that brings residents together; discourages the acceptance of violence as a normal part of life and to acquaint neighbors with one another. - Cultivate a volunteer base of 2 to 3 core volunteers and establish a roster of 15 to 20 residents and others who work in the community to be a part of the program and participate in responses to shootings or killings, canvassing, community activities or otherwise support the program. - Coordinate, lead and support public education activities. - Establish and maintain a relationship with the local police district to assure receipt of essential information in a timely manner. - Maintain regular participation in meetings coordinated by DOHMH. - Supervise the Outreach Supervisor; may supervise Violence Interrupters

In 2008, the founders of WAAB established a Fellowship to train new leaders working for community, faith-based, government, non-profit, and private sector organizations in Brooklyn. The WAAB Fellowship is a year-long leadership development program entering its seventh year dedicated to advancing the next generation of Brooklyn’s diverse leaders and empowering them to become change agents to strengthen Brooklyn.The WAAB Fellowship teaches and challenges participants to work together. Fellows learn how they can help communities share resources, manage tensions, and collaborate on solving problems. Ultimately, they are able to view diversity as an asset to themselves, their agencies, their communities, and Brooklyn as a whole. Fellows participate in monthly professional development seminars and networking opportunities with key decision makers in our city.
