Shane leads the Major Projects Division within Group DLA, a building surveying and certification consultancy organisation. This is a unique division in that offers the true and authentic consultancy role to valued clients. Shane is accredited/registered as a Building Surveyor and Building Inspector with the NSW Building Professionals Board and the Victorian Building Practitioners Board, at the highest levels. Shane has been involved in the building surveying profession for 15 years. His major protect experience has been gained from working on a wide variety of projects including residential developments, aged/health care facilities, and major project developments in commercial, sporting and retail buildings. His practical experience and knowledge is supplemented with Post Graduate studies in Fire Safety Engineering at the Victoria University of Technology. Shane consultancy expertise includes but is not limited to the following BCA and regulatory practices: • Design team BCA Consultancy role;• Expert witness and other legal type work for numerous Construction Law Firms; • BCA audits of existing buildings, including legislative Fire Upgrade Reports; • Fire Orders, advocating for owners and strata; • Crown Approvals; • Due Diligence inspections and reports, including commercial pre-purchase; • Fire Safety; • Building Code and Standards compliance; • Value management design and feasibility studies; • Disability consulting; • Energy efficiency design and reviews; and • Certification.
