Project Manager for a Full Service General ContractorManaged all aspects of public construction projects for a GC/prime contractor from NTP through closeout on 6-8 simultaneous active projects, ensuring completion on-time and under budget. Responsibilities included submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, trade coordination, design-build engineering tasks, CPM scheduling, purchase orders, change orders, budgeting, tracking cost performance, subcontractor buyouts, quality management, insurance handling, pencil requisitions, QA/QC of delegated design submittals, MWBE plans, time impact analyses, contract extension requests, delay claims, project meetings, daily reports, and project closeout. Maintained submittal logs, RFI logs, CO logs, permit logs, transmittal logs, inspection logs, and QA/QC logs. Oversaw Assistant Project Managers including delegating tasks, training, mentoring and leading.Public agencies included: NYC HHC, MTA, NYC Parks, NYCHA, Port Authority of NY & NJ, DASNY, DSNY & SUNY.Developed, implemented, and currently manage the company’s AutoCAD drafting standards and procedures, which has increased productivity and allowed for in-house CAD drafting. Structural Design/Project EngineerPerformed structural design and analysis on multiple projects at a time with involvement from start to finish, including bid and proposal, schematic design, design development, construction document development and construction administration phases. On larger projects I worked alongside a project manager but on smaller projects I was responsible for determining the required design tasks, managing deadlines and supervising design engineers. Project types included residential, commercial/retail, and public housing in various locations across (10) different states. Construction types included ground-up, tenant fit-outs, existing townhouse renovations and temporary shoring/bracing of partial demolitions. Design experience included various construction materials such as structural steel, reinforced concrete, dimensional lumber, pre-engineered wood, CMU block, hollow core planks, brick masonry, cold-formed steel and open-web steel joists. Other responsibilities included drafting and creating contract documents, creating markups for drafters, reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, attending weekly coordination meetings, writing technical reports, and regularly visiting job sites throughout construction. I also managed the office’s NYC DOB NOW account throughout the permitting process and assisted with IT services.

As a structural engineering intern, I performed standalone engineering design tasks including steel beams and girders, steel joists, wood beams, shear walls and concrete footings. Reviewed structural steel and concrete shop drawings to ensure they satisfy the design intent of the structural drawings. Modified the company’s AutoCAD Typical Detail Library and drafting standards. Performed numerous site visits with a project manager, taking measurements, drawing field sketches and writing field reports.

Responsible for merchandising and customer service in a retail surf shop owned by my family. This was my first exposure to seeing a business from an ownership perspective. Taught surfing and stand-up paddle boarding lessons to customers of all ages and ability levels. Learned an extensive amount about the history of surfing as the shop features one of the best classic surfboard collections.
