Shane Burrows is a Physical Education K-12, Head Boys Track Coach at PERKINS LOCAL SCHOOL at Perkins Local Schools. He possess expertise in teaching, event planning, customer service, public speaking, fundraising and 14 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I have had the good fortune of working for Shane as a volunteer Asst. Coach in the track & field program. Shane brings a passion to his work that is infectious & engages the athletes that compete in this sport. He is very approachble - be it administration, staff, peers, parents, athletes, etc. He freely gives of his time not only to his athletes but to others either in the sport or to those who are in other sports that seek out his input. He continuously seeks out new information/techniques from around the US for the sport and encourages his staff to do likewise. Shane actively seeks input from his staff at both the high school & jr. high school level so as to not only maintain the high standard this program has achieved for more than 30 years but to build upon its tradition of excellence during his current tenure (which he continues to do). He has a genuine interest in, and compassion for his athletes; not only as it relates to the sport, but as young adults and the challeges they may face outside of track & field. It is evidenced by the relationships former athletes maintain with Shane long past graduation and who come back to help out in a variety of ways. Those who compete in his program know they are part of the program for life - just as is that foundation of friendship. He not only "talks the talk, but walks that talk" as a coach, a professional, a role model, and as a friend. The Perkins district is fortunate to have such an postive resource in its community."
