•Undertake to achieve goals for part shortages, overdue orders, Inventory turns and damage reduction•Identify inventory reduction opportunities•Plan for inventory onsite to be a minimum.•Proactive prevention of part shortages•Involvement in 3-10 shortage prevention process•Review daily shortage reports and expedite on an urgent basis•Liaise with vendors as required to ensure timely and efficient supply of parts.•Ensure supplier schedules are delivered in a timely manner to all vendors, and manage communication with vendors as required.•Recommend review of settings on Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) system in the event of repeat shortages•Fax overdue order reports to all relevant vendors prior to 9:00 am each day•Review MRP messages as required•Expedite orders as required•Review future requirements, especially for forecast items and place appropriate orders•Review stocks of critical parts using appropriate methods ([physical stock checks etc)•Recommend appropriate Miscellaneous Inventory Transactions (MIT)•Action Defective Material Reports (DMR’S)•Participate as directed in annual physical inventory count•Review obsolete parts details on a quarterly basis•Review Miscellaneous Inventory Transactions (MIT’s), and check call-up errors for assigned parts as required
