I’m a Carpenter by trade, born and raised in the Pacific NW, in Edmonds Washington. Growing up I fished Puget Sound rivers for Steelhead in the winter and golfed in the summer, both with my best friend, Grandpa. Grandpa was a WW2 Navy Veteran turned Union Pressman after the war, he worked for the Seattle Times and taught me about the value of hard work, respect for others and knowing what battles to pick-and-choose as I got into form carpentry at 18 years old. “The boss is the boss and payday’s on Friday” is what he would tell me if I felt I was being treated unfairly at work, which happens quite often as a young apprentice in concrete work. I love building! I love building projects I can look back and be proud I was involved in and can show my son the project I disappeared to every morning and came back from every evening. I miss physically building with my hands, but at Hoffman I get to be a part of some of the most amazing projects, and still get the same satisfaction I had when wearing tool bags. At the end of the day, I build to support the things I love when I’m not at work; shoot sporting clays, teaching my son to ride bikes and golf (someday row a drift boat), bird hunt with my GSPs, camp, river fish anywhere I can, and golf as much as possible.
