As a passionate and perceptive educator, Mr. Shane Kiser has made it a goal to ensure the success and academic progress of all students. During the Spring of 2014, he graduated from Florida State University with his Bachelors in Elementary Education, receiving his K-6 certification, and Reading and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsements. Over the next few years, Mr. Kiser was recognized by Springwood Elementary School as the 2017-18 Glenn-Howell Distinguished Educator of the Year, and the 2018-19 Teacher of the Year. He has taught grades 3 and 4, and has served as a Team Leader since his second year of teaching. During the 2020-21 school year, Mr. Kiser served as the Digital Academy Site Coordinator at Springwood. While in this position he was tasked with not only being the liaison between brick-and-mortar and home learning, but he also handled Chromebook distribution, attendance and behavioral matters, provided weekly Q&A sessions for parents, and provided technical support for teachers, students, and families. His current position as an Instructional Coach of Springwood has allowed him to continue his dedication to the betterment of others. His roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning and/or conducting teacher trainings, observing teachers and providing feedback, reviewing and providing intervention materials, providing interventions for Tier 2 & 3 students, attending district meetings, leading parent trainings, and tracking school-wide data.
