CWWWe Believe...The end result of an education should not be a stockpile of facts but an understanding of causes and effects that shape our lives.People should spend some time in the wilderness away from modern distractions and the usual groups, so our students spend a week with only each other for company in unfamiliar places, and they build new bonds and find in themselves new strengths.Language, science, art, math, and history aren’t meant to be kept separate because they are all tools for making sense of our world, so we require students to draw on all these academic disciplines to demonstrate their understanding of complex issues.Sharing one’s education is an obligatory service to the community, one that encourages thoughtfulness and stewardship, and so our students share what they learn with you, their authentic audience.

CMS teachers will strive to: a) establish a positive relationship with each child and b) motivate students to learn through rigorous and relevant lessons. This vision can be summarized by three words: Relationships, Rigor, RelevanceCMS students will be taught the importance of solid attendance, academic excellence, respect, and safety throughout their middle school years. These guidelines are organized around four basic expectations for student success: Be Here, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be PreparedWe believe that collaboration among the staff, students, parents, and community is an essential ingredient to our school’s success. We therefore strive to maintain a culture where: Staff members work as a team to do what is in the best interests of the students. Students feel a sense of community with their teachers, peers, and school. Parents and community members are welcome at school and actively involved.

At Chrysalis Therapeutic Boarding School I taught English 10, English 12, ACT/SAT Prep, Yearbook, Remedial English and was the Senior class adviser. As well during my time at Chrysalis I partnered with a colleague to start the Chrysalis Library fund/project and trademarked PENNIES4PAGES all in the effort to construct the schools first library and resource center.
