But to give you some background...Back in 2015 I was fed up with the traditional agency model. I'd tried it for a few years and it just wasn't working. Here was the problem...Big agencies are simply bloated and inefficient. Expenses are through the roof. So much money is wasted. And guess what? Those expenses get passed off to the client. Which means that a $30k project becomes a $300k project. Not only is that insane, but it means that you're pricing out 85% of your total clientele. Not good for you, not good for the client, not good for anyone. So instead, I considered going solo... the good ol' freelancer route. But that didn't work either. Here's why...As a freelancer, you certainly have more freedom and flexibility than a traditional agency. And it's much easier to keep your costs down, too. But that's about the only good that comes with it.Firstly, your earning potential is severely limited. Freelancers simply don’t command premium prices (even if they're great at what they do). And as a freelancer, it’s really really hard to get access to the best clients with the biggest budgets.On top of that, as a one-person operation, you've got no leverage. When you're the only one doing the work, you’re not really a “business owner,” you’ve basically just given yourself another job — trading time for money. And that's when I landed on what I call the Micro-Agency. A hybrid model. The best of both, without all of the unnecessary crap. Something that would be beneficial not just for me, but for the client, too. And that's what I teach now. I show freelancers how to build a real business around their service.
