Working closely with the EMEA Operations and Data Centre managers to ensure the smooth running of data centre operations, as well as maintaining the very high standards of the site across the six blade rooms that we manage.Supervise and mentor a team of nine data centre engineers to ensure that installations, maintains, decommissions, change control and incident resolution are carried out to the approved, high standards of the data centre environment. Required to understand and adopt any new applications or change of process and deliver the necessary training, guidance and coaching to the engineers for a smooth transition with ongoing support.Worked closely with our DEVOPS team to simplify and create a new global, virtual workflow for installations and decommissions within our DCOS application. Since being implemented it has proved to be an invaluable tool for both junior and senior engineers.Attendance on regular conference calls to manage BAU activities ensuring that Service Now changes and incident tasks are raised and are in an approved status before allocating the work to the engineers.Managed the relocation of sixty roll-in-racks for VDI deployment and planned the successful re-patching of these cabinets for a smooth transition with minimal downtime.Led the build-out of three new blade rooms in Farnborough, UK installing new DCF's including installation of switches, network equipment & all associated fibre/copper patching. This helped to facilitate the expansion of the technology space to align with the global strategy.Supported one, 5 yearly MEPC for fixed wired electrical testing on the A & B power feeds in Farnborough, UK.

Supporting the day-to-day operations of the data centre including managed asset installations, maintains, decommissions and fault support adhering to approved data centre standards on a 24/7 x365 shift basis.Responsible for understanding network diagrams to plan and connect copper/fibre connections ensuring patching databases are accurately updated within the patching database.Adhering to strict change control management in Service Now to implement high risk changes and responding within SLAs to fault find and resolve incidents through incident management. This involves attendance on regular bridge calls with line of business managers and P1M to support/resolve incidents.Responsible to train and mentor new colleagues and guide them with their development.Supported the strategic decommission and exit of two large data halls with 5,000+ managed assets without incident in Bournemouth, UK.Managed a 12 switch SAN migration with 800+ fibre connection migrations without incident which supported the refresh of these managed assets.Supported two, 5 yearly MEPC’s for fixed wired electrical testing on the A & B power feeds.Supported many successful merge events some with 50+ server relocations and re-patching within our core data centres in the UK.Successfully supported 30+ server relocations and re-patching in Istanbul, Turkey from an exit site to a new site in the city.Successfully supported the build-out of an MER & TR over two floors in Warsaw, Poland installing user switches, network equipment & all associated fibre/copper patching.
