As a business management graduate looking for employment in Massachusetts, I am seeking employment in the business field. I enjoy my work when I feel engaged with the products my firm produces and, in an environment, where I am part of a team. To date, I have experience in the following areas: • Worked as a bar manager for two years. Over time, I worked my way up to this position. In my time, the hotel was the 2nd largest in my hometown of Clonmel, I worked there for seven years. For my first four years of college, I worked weekends to pay for my education. In this job I enjoyed working with a big team of staff and customer service. There were many challenges in this role such as customer complaints and dealing with conflicts between bar staff and irate customers. • Working as a camp head counsellor (2 years’ experience). I worked for Southampton camp and club situated on Long Island New York for 2 summer contracts in 2020 and 2021. I enjoyed working with my small team of 4 and creating a bond with the kids at camp. The job was difficult and frustrating as working with kids is not easy, but it was a very rewarding experience. The position as head counsellor was also stressful as I was in charge of 12-15 children, this required me to ensure that they were safe and any demands from their parents were met such as dietary requirements and allergies. • Working as a retail assistant in Flying Point surf Southampton (2 years’ experience). The most memorable part of my time working for this company was that it took place during the covid pandemic. In this role I had to manage the register and to deal with the customers on a commission-based role. It was my first job where I needed to create sales to earn my wage and I found it difficult at the start but very rewarding over time.My current interests now that I have moved to Massachusetts would be firstly playing guitar. I have begun to learn Irish Folk and traditional songs. I would like one day to become good enough to play in pubs and bars here in Boston. I am also playing with the Quincy Irish soccer team, although it is very quiet this time of year for field sports, I am looking forward to the summer ahead for the soccer.
