Gis Manager
Current•Serves as a Geospatial Information (GIS) technical advisor and graphically depicts the Installations master plan for Real Property.•Assists customers in using spatial and statistical methods to analyze attributes and geographic information to develop new GIS data layers: creates and/or updates GIS data to develop, populate, and maintain the Common Installation Picture.•Develops schedules to meet project needs, develops project work assignments, monitors progress and manages GIS resources to meet project schedules and mission requirements.•Ensures that all needed expertise is available for project applications and that all activities are properly integrated and scheduled. •Updates and maintains installation maps, gathering data from surveys, both visual and physical, and real property data. •Works in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CAD), Geospatial Information System (GIS), and Graphic design presentation. •Responsible for verification of the continuity of the data and for editing and performing interactive adjustments to the files to eliminate any discrepancies.•Upgrades and maintains GIS, mapping, and engineering application software.•Serves as the data manager and data base administrator for the GIS data for the installation.•Evaluates new operating systems and application software packages for GIS; spear heads the development of standards and applications; and serves on working groups to further GIS implementation.
