The Bloomberg American Health Initiative seeks to make progress on five challenges facing health in the United States: addiction and overdose, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, risks to adolescent health, and violence. A key part of the initiative is the Bloomberg Fellows Program, which is designed for individuals who are currently working with collaborating organizations on the front lines of one of these five challenges in the United States. Fellows will center their studies in their focus area and engage with their organization while at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Fellows will serve at least one year with their organization after graduation and the fellow and their organization will then join an ongoing network of practice and research with the Bloomberg School of Public Health. As the Fellowship & Engagement Officer, I support the participation of the Bloomberg Fellowship Collaborating Organizations (BFCO) through various experiences including relationship building, conferences, research opportunities, policy programs, access to resources, and practice networks. We create the experience of being a BFCO.
