Brought on the team as an undergraduate research assistant to assist in our team’s project website as well as our data collection pipeline. After swiftly fixing the website, I worked with graduate students on advancing and streamlining our Python and SQL-powered database. Thanks to my innovations, the size of our dataset more than doubled, and my contributions were pivotal to our data processing and data augmentation scripts. After my advancements, I was chosen to lead our team into the first NSF I-Corps 2024 cohort, where we secured a $3,000 grant for our project.

As a member of the SDSU Rocket Project’s Avionics section, I specialize in data acquisition and data analytics. Most recently, I helped develop a data acquisition pipeline interfacing Python with industrial-grade NI-DAQ equipment, which was used in our last static hot fire. Furthermore, I built scripts in order to visualize and display live data during engine tests.

I was responsible for managing and processing extensive point cloud data collected from aerial UAV drones equipped with LiDAR attachments. I implemented innovative solutions, including the development of voxel grid data augmentation techniques, to significantly improve the quality of our dataset. Additionally, I designed and trained a customized AI model that demonstrated an impressive accuracy rate of 85% in identifying and counting trees within the point cloud data. To leverage high-performance computing resources, I also collaborated with the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) supercomputer to train a task-adjacent model, laying the foundation for future transfer learning endeavors.
