Analyzed the effectiveness of Virginia’s forensic evaluator grading system to improve sanity and competency evaluations.

Researched mass incarceration and the health effects of correctional facilities to write a thesis. In addition, I drafted 2 monetary grant applications to fund the Norfolk City Jail Reading Group and developed informational presentations for awareness campaigns distributed throughout local jails.

The Tidewater Solidarity Bail Fund is a non-profit revolving community bail fund that provides bail for low-level non-violent, misdemeanor defendants that are unable to afford their bail. Successfully, we have bailed out over 200 defendants to date as partners with local public defenders and advocates in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Shadowing Attorney Annette Miller in Circuit Court with a special focus on the intricacies of NGRI.

Formulated a strategic training plan based on Legal Aid Questionnaire responses for 11 Virginia Legal Aid groups. Translated July 1st, 2023 legislation into layman’s language and created revitalization plan for Legal Aid Website. Conducted research on further ways to protect Virginia consumers and homeowners through legislation

Observed Attorney Hunn and other attorneys' arguments in the local general district and circuit courts. Examined the components of a successful lawyer: delivery, knowledge of the case, and use of precedent. Devoted time to learning about other types of law and attorneys such as immigration, civil rights, and criminal/civil defense.

Shadowed Judge Joseph Migliozzi in high-level jury trials as well as during his daily job responsibilities. Analyzed case decisions after watching court proceedings. Learned about the death penalty from a previous capital defender and world-renown spokesperson advocating against the death penalty.
