✩ My hard work, adaptability and process improvements were recognized and rewarded with an offer of a permanent Staff Geologist position, which I happily accepted shortly after the Husky's reorganization in October of 2019✩ In 2020, amidst COVID restrictions, negative oil prices, reduction of budgets and then an accelerated resumption of drilling, I successfully created a remote Central Operations Room at Husky's head office, ahead of schedule and with a low capital set up cost✩ The room has modernized Geologic Operations by significantly reducing wellsite geology costs, giving time back to the Area Geologists and improving safety by reducing workers at the rig site & driving on winter roads✩ I have redefined the Geologic Operations role with innovative and creative ideas such as core montages, drilling maps, deep dive drilling lookbacks and revamped reporting.✩ I have coordinated the geological requirements of an additional 127 wells in this role to date, primarily in the Lloydminster Heavy Oil Thermal and Cold assets.✩

I provided Geological Operations consultation for Husky's Heavy Oil & Oil Sands assets, adding 266 new drills primarily in the Lloydminster area, for both Thermal and Cold assets. I created and circulated drilling maps which improved the understanding of drilling progress & results. I worked with the Area Geologists, Development Engineers and the Drilling Team to coordinate successful drill programs of vertical, directional and horizontal wells. Subcontracted through Chinook Consulting Services.

✩ I accepted a Senior Geologist position at PetroChina Canada (formerly Brion Energy) and obtained SAGD experience through the milestones of pre-production to first steam, first oil and into full production at MacKay River Commercial Project (MRCP)✩ The project has 42 SAGD well pairs approximately 44 km west of Fort McMurray and the primary target is the Upper McMurray Formation ✩ I successfully planned and coordinated 4 winter drilling programs (a total of 153 verticals) then supervised the log and core analysis and helped integrate the data into the Petrel geomodel✩ These verticals identified and delineated the best reservoir for step-out pad adds and infills for sustaining plant capacity✩ These drilling programs ensured AER well density requirements were met for commercial SAGD applications & Field Development Plans✩ I developed an MLE retention strategy and a 5-year drilling plan to hold the most valuable lands and allow uneconomic lands to be relinquished✩ Recommend the company switch all 3 geologic vendors after a technical review. Costs were reduced for open hole logging by 45%, wellsite supervision by 42% and core analysis by 46%, while maintaining or improving data and service quality✩ I selected locations for specialized logs & tests including Formation Pressure Tests, Image logs and Dipole Sonic logs✩ Characterized the reservoir by studying mud bed properties and their lateral continuity, lean zones, Kv / Kh barriers & baffles, reservoir grain size variations (PSD analysis) and fines migration✩ I was involved in several specialty geologic studies such as CT scanning of whole core, XRD, SEM, studying competitor cores for analogue studies and Petrology via thin section analyses✩ Collaborated with reservoir engineers to recover caprock cores for tri-axial testing & select locations for mini-frac testing✩ I organized core workshops to outline core recovery & core analysis methodology to the Senior Executive Team

☆ Hired for the Primrose team, focusing on Geologic mapping, Field Development & Drilling Operations of the Clearwater Fm oilsands☆ Primrose is located 43 km NW of Cold Lake and has High Pressure CSS horizontal wells ("huff n puff") ☆ I was instrumental in adding 200 HPCSS wells in 4 years☆ I presented my geologic maps, analog studies and geomodel evidence for strong “2 for 1” economic cases which resulted in the budget approval of 10 new Phases☆ Helped plan & drill 54 wells for Phases 22, 23, 24... an area where we had to avoid occurrences of a clay mineral called bertheirine☆ Next I planned & drilled 50 wells for Phases 25A, 25B, 26 in 2012 targeting thin pay (11m down to 5m thick) over a rising base of pay structure (7m rise over a 1600m lateral)☆ Collaborated with the geophysicist to create a seismically derived base of pay uncertainty map☆ This program finished ahead of schedule, under budget and with the best placed laterals (zero sidetracks) in Primrose to date☆ Coordinated strat programs in the winters of 2012 & 2013 which added 48 new OSE vertical wells☆ The strat program delineated a new economic pay trend which led to the $397MM budget approval of an additional 96 CSS wells (Phases 40, 41, 42, 43) which were successfully drilled in 2013/2014☆ Worked closely with Halliburton to optimize drainage box placement, pad locations, buffer distances, trajectory design and anti-collision tolerances, especially on cross-drilled pads☆ Very familiar with EWR, ADR and Rotary Steerable BHA’s and investigated the causes of TVD drift☆ Minimized costs to the company by establishing an ADR baseline then switching to EWR☆ Streamed live MWD data in Petrel and used base of pay confirmations to adapt the offset well plans ☆ Helped plan several successful re-drills which had a high risk of lost circulation into old steam chambers☆ Learned how to get the most out of every dollar by working for a true low-cost operator☆ Truly enjoyed my time at CNRL

Pelican Lake Heavy Oil Polymer Flood, Wabiskaw Member ☆ I was promoted from a Technologist role in the field to the Calgary office as a Development Geologist for Pelican Lake, the world’s largest heavy oil waterflood☆ Successfully drilled 10 horizontal wells, 5 water source wells and 2 strat wells☆ Adapted with the field as it transitioned from cold heavy oil production (CHOP) to waterflood and finally polymer flood, from small pilot projects to commercial application☆ Innovative EOR methods such as polymer flood added an incremental 8% recovery (108 Mbbls) above standard waterflood methods☆ Created a 3D reservoir model in Petrel which mapped highly karsted pay base and top surfaces in high resolution, refined existing pay maps, mapped viscosity variances and calculated OOIP volumetrics☆ Investigated well bore conformance issues due to a magnetic anomaly and incorrect Mag/Dec assumption☆ Involved in many successful projects which utilized new innovations including: multi-lateral (fishbone) drilling, re-drills, wellbore conformance remediation (injection of high viscosity polymer slugs to shut off short circuiting) and waterflood trouble shooting (isotope tracers)☆ Helped build a reservoir simulation model with CMG / Imex Builder for forecasting against type curves☆ Developed software skills with Petrel, GeoScout, AccuMap, RTD Tracker, OFM, Wellview, SMART 4D Modeling, Wellsight, Pason and Microsoft Office
