About Shane Wright
As an accomplished Enterprise, Operations, and Strategy Lecturer, I am passionate about inspiring and empowering students to excel in the dynamic world of business. An entrepreneur with multiple businesses, I combine theoretical knowledge with real-world insights to deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences. I have worked in higher education since 2019, across several institutions, winning the student-voted Business Lecturer of the year award in 2023 at UA92. Initially, I trained as a sports coach. Completing a degree in Sport Development at Leeds Beckett University. From there, I moved to South Africa to work on the 2010 World Cup Legacy programme. Upon my return to the UK, I launched a Sports Coaching franchise specialising in providing curricular and extra-curricular provision for primary school children. I did this for 10 years and at it's pre-COVID peak, I employed more than 20 staff members and worked with more than 50 schools on a weekly basis. I was responsible for all aspects of the business, including - sales and marketing, recruitment, training and deployment of staff as well as financial obligations such as cashflow forecasting, payroll and accounting. I have since launched another business in this field, providing holiday camps, bouncy castle hire, birthday parties and curriculum enrichment. I also offer business consultancy and I am a school governor at my local primary school.
