Shane Chesson is a Founding Partner of Openspace Ventures, a venture capital fund manager focused on backing and building early and mid-stage technology companies in South East Asia. Openspace Ventures manages over US$800 million across 6 funds and has invested in over 60 companies since 2014. Openspace has a team of 40 people in 5 offices and including 12 different nationalities. Shane has served on the Board or as an Observer for companies including Gojek (Exit GOTO:JK), HaloDoc, Whispir (Exit WSP:AU), Finnomena, FinAccel, Topica, CXA, Tradegecko (Exit to INTU:US), Amp, Abacus, Biofourmis, Validus, Pluang, Envisso, Neuroglee and BeautyMNL. Shane is Vice-Chairman of SVCA (Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association) which represents the community and interests of over 300 members focused on private markets. He is also Chairman of the Investment Committee for Aidha Accelerator, working with migrant workers on entrepreneurship opportunities.Shane was previously Managing Director and Co-Head of Technology Group for Citigroup Investment Banking Asia-Pacific. Shane previously worked with Merrill Lynch Singapore and began his career as a strategy consultant with Bain and Company and GEM Consulting in Australia.Shane graduated with an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD and has an LLB/BCom from University of Western Australia
