- To lead the Business Development team.- To develop and manage the Society’s business development strategy and make recommendations for change to products and criteria to sustain the Society’s competitive edge.- Identify and develop new business relationships to support the overall achievement of the Society’s gross mortgage lending expectations.- Design and host events for groups of intermediaries, networks and mortgage clubs.- Offer expert and detailed advice and guidance to intermediaries, networks and mortgage clubs on the Society’s lending policy and criteria.- Build and maintain a good understanding of key competitor products and criteria and identify opportunities for product or lending criteria development.- Compilation of business performance and activity reports for the Head of Operations.- Represent the Society at nationwide external events.

Supporting, developing and promoting the Society’s Intermediary strategy by leading a team of Telephone Business Development Managers (BDM)’s. In collaboration with their Field BDM partners we work to increase market share, encouraging high quality mortgage business and enhancing our reputation across the U.K.

• Providing a best in class Telephone BDM service to defined lending partnerships in the market, positively influencing market share and building relationships with brokers.• Providing an initial point of contact for new broker registrations, establishing business potential, assessing risk profile and embedding relationships.• Ensuring defined brokers deliver an appropriate business mix and implement measures / changes to effect improvement where necessary.• Respond to indicators of potential mortgage fraud.• Responsibility for communicating any changes to process, policy or products, that affects both the society and our lending partnerships.• Reviewing and analysing data and MI from internal and external sources and ensuring that activity is in line with the corporate plan.• Identify market trends and propose appropriate ideas / changes to existing products, lending criteria & procedures to improve the Society's position in the market place.• Seek ways of keeping regularly updates on internal and external factors that could affect the performance or reputation of the Society.
