I was tasked with the innovation of all English language courses in a leading adult training centre. My objective was to make the courses more interactive, engaging and outcome focused whilst still adhering to the rigorous criteria set by local governance. The company subsequently became the number 1 centre for English courses in the region. My role involved delivering several ongoing projects simultaneously to budget and on time:English Syllabuses project: • Responsible for designing & developing the course criteria in the official tendering process for each of the company’s 30-50 English courses• Liaising with the board and other stakeholders throughout the process• Taking the project mandate and developing the business case using lessons learned• Establishing & documenting each English course’s objectives, content, quality assurance, evaluation criteria, teaching methodologies and procedures to be used• Going paperless with documentation and file sharing online for teaching resources and materials using MS Word and Excel• Communicating the change in teaching methodologies to other teachers and engaging them moving forward• Developing course materials• Delivering English courses both online and face-to-face• Producing quality assessment documentation at the end of each courseCambridge Assessment English Exam Centre project• Responsible for the company becoming an official Cambridge Assessment English language exam centre and managing their BULATS exam service (an online Business English test) • Liaising with external stakeholders for compliance with official Cambridge Exam centre prerequisites which involved checking IT requirements, centre staffing, classroom and student facilities.• Communicating change to internal staff on new Cambridge exam centre procedures• Integrating BULATS within the English syllabus project• Invigilating and marking tests as an official Cambridge English BULATS examiner• Retraining as an examiner every 2 years
