Applications Engineer I for Vante and Plastic Weld Systems (PWS). Working in the Catheter Tipping industry. Based in Ireland to provide support to European customers. Including remote assistance and on-site visits. Initiate projects with customers to Design and implement tooling strategies to deliver turn key solutions for customer tipping and bonding requirements. Working closely with sales personnel to identify and assess opportunities via on site visits to customer sites or remotely. Manage projects in Ireland and Europe and liaison between US and EU teams. Provide Customer support for troubleshooting of processes issues, electrical repairs, and mechanical repair. Provide customer training on equipment and systems including initial installation, remote/on-site troubleshooting and mold cleaning/polishing. Key competencies:Technical skills relating to plastics processing, including Extrusion, Injection molding, and other secondary plastics processing technologies.Proficient in Solidworks and Drafting for 3D & 2D CAD. Communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office software applications.

Technical liaison for injection moulding for both internal and client teams. Manage new injection mould tool introduction to the NPI team. During new product introduction (NPI), maintain constant monitoring and communication of tooling schedule status to ensure project technical quality, reliability, schedule and costs are adhered to. Development and implementation of multi-cavity Tooling strategies for complex and/or large tooling builds with optimal cavitation and cycle times to meet the needs of a robust manufacturing process and quality requirements.Participated and led product development or project meetings to make various recommendations for product design changes. Including component DFM/DFA recommendations, tooling recommendations, and End of Arm Tooling recommendations. Key competencies: Excellent communication skills. Working as part of a dynamic team with tight deadlines for both internal and client projects. Manage new injection mould tool introduction to the NPI team. Communication of tooling status to ensure technical quality remains throughout tool life. Ensure procedures are followed to maintain reliability, schedule and budgets are adhered. Familiar with multiple tooling solutions including hot/cold runner, two shot, and overmolding. Strong concept design skills. DFM skills with injection moulded parts. Highly proficient 3D CAD Skills. Highly proficient in Product Design & Design Assurance on injection moulded parts. From initial concept creation to finished design. Extensive experience in Design for Manufacture/Design for manufacturing Assembly & Failure, Mode, Effect & Analysis tools. (DFM/DFMA & FMEA) & reverse engineering of medical device components. Design of Radio Frequency welder press tooling (RF Tooling). The design of several RF tools to fulfil customer requirements. Including; bags for chemotherapy, catheter bags & pumps for pain management systems.Extensive experience in the design and implementation of End of Arm Tool (EOAT) Design involving pick and place systems which have been found to improve production.Design of metrology fixtures for validation and for in-process inspection. Design of printing fixtures for repeatable pad printing & laser marking processes. Key competencies: Strong concept design skills. DFM skills with injection moulded parts.
