Like books? I love them, and I lead Engineering teams in Amazon Books, with emphasis on inclusion and innovation. Although hiring is paused right now, feel free to keep in touch for when we open recruiting again.I currently lead three teams at Amazon (two in Seattle and one in Madrid). You can see some of their awesome work at https://amazon.com/yourbooks, https://amazon.com/bookshelf, and https://business.amazon.com/en/discover-more/release-notes/2024/06/business-giving-launch.Who am I? I'm an experienced Software Engineer, Program Manager, Architect, and Engineering Manager with a demonstrated history of leading teams that successfully ship software on time and with high quality in a variety of environments. Technically deep, with full-stack experience. I'm a strong proponent of the principles of the Agile Manifesto, but not orthodox about any particular method (I do prefer Kanban over Scrum, though). Over the years, in addition to the linked products above, my teams have shipped the the Zune sync feature (RIP, but we had better cust sat numbers than, you know, the other guys--hint: marketing matters), the original Xbox One dashboard, multiple Xbox in-box apps, and the first Xbox App for Windows 10, iOS, and Android. My Engineering teams have consistently demonstrated success by delivering high quality software on time in the face of scheduling, resourcing, and technical challenges. This has been, in part, due to my good fortune to work with some excellent engineers, but also through recruiting, retention, and coaching. I try to focus on what people can do rather than what they cannot, and to help them grow to fill the gaps. I am a flexible optimist; I try to keep an open mind to new possibilities as they arise, and I am willing and able to make tough decisions when required to help the team ship.
