“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” - Luke 12:48Former Naval Officer, testicular cancer dominator, gym junkie, Kansas City native, UF Gator, Real Estate Investor & Entrepreneur - founder of Vacation Alchemy. The sum of my experience is what makes me unique, and I am comfortable being uncomfortable. I enjoy building things, and feel most alive when I am growing, both personally & professionally. Building a tribe, or systems & teams, communities, homes, buildings. If it’s weak let’s make it stronger. If it’s slow let’s make it faster. The very idea of growth and the future brings me energy. Ceo & FounderVacation Alchemy Oct 2020 - PresentTampa, Florida, United StatesShort Term Rental Owner & Operator covering three Central Florida markets - St. Petersburg, Tampa, & Kissimmee / Orlando. There are plenty of solid "Hosts" & vacation rental management companies - there are many more that are mediocre or worse, & happy to simply scoop up a commission with an absentee owner and a subpar product. Some of them excel at Design & delivering an "experience" - others are great with Hospitality & Operations - and some drive business almost exclusively via high dollar marketing to attract new business because they fail at the first two. When I understood the power & speed of the STR model; the financial freedom & abundance it could create for my family and my investors, my goal became to create a company that excelled at all three. This industry evolves rapidly, and we adapt accordingly. We are relentless in our pursuit of the delivering the best possible experience to our guest, with an ultimate outcome of the highest possible return for our Investors & Owners. Highlights: - In 2 years, we have grown to a team of 5, with 20 properties (total pipeline). - AirBnB SuperHost & VRBO Premier Host for 2+ Years - over 930 Reviews, 4.93 AVG - In > 30 Days into Direct Booking Website Launch; x 12 5-Star Reviews - Consistently in AirDNA 90th Percentile or Above for Gross REV - From January 2021, $2.1M Gross REV- Average Owner / Investor CoC 14%; this does not include Appreciation or Tax Benefit We are ALWAYS looking for the right partners, investors, or guests : ) Don't hesitate to contact me about a stay or an investment - Shane@vacationalchemy.com -

Combined Task Force 53 / Naval Special Warefare Group TwoForce Protection Officer / Assistant Operations Officer 2016 - Jan 2018Manama, Bahrain / Virginia Beach, VaIn the spring of 2016, I relocated to Manama, Bahrain as a Force Protection Officer for a logistics task force. The task force arranged for the maritime delivery (via U.S. Navy or commercially contracted civilian merchant vessels) of supplies across the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. My job was to review and approve security plans for port visits and high risk transits, in addition physically assisting the ship's Captain with security while in port. This primarily included the supervision of foreign military and civilians during construction of security features and implementation of security procedures. Highlights: I was able to suscessfully protect over $1 Billion of Naval assets, including roughly 500 civilian mariners. In July of 2016, I returned permanently to the United States on short notice to receive cancer treatment. My surgical treatment was successful, and I was fortunately able to return to Naval Special Warfare Group 2 while completing cancer surveillance protocol and Medical Separation from active duty.

Assistant Operations OfficerNaval Special Warfare (Nsw) Group Two, Logisitcs Support Unit 2014 - 2016Norfolk, Virginia AreaNaval Special Warfare was unequivocally the best community I experienced during my career. I had worked for great leaders on previous tours, but the level of dedication that NSW leadership had to the well being of all those under their charge was unlike anything I had seen. The community is also highly entrepreneurial; if you prove to be a valuable asset and master the basics, the opportunities for more interesting, higher risk work are limitless. As an Assistant Operations Officer in a logistics command, I led 51 Sailors as Principal Assistant to Navy SEAL Officer Operations Officer. Our efforts orchestrated operational support to four SEAL Teams and 19 Special Operations sub-commands totaling 1,600 personnel across globe. Highlights: Second deployment to the Middle East. Even without formal Intelligence experience, I assumed a role as an Intelligence Team Leader for an overseas, Joint/Interagency Task Force with U.S. Special Operations Command. It also gave me the chance to brief and interact with U.S. and Allied strategic level policy makers up to the Ambassador and Four-Star Officer level.

Naval Gunnery Liaison Officer, 3Rd Battalion, 2Nd Marine Regiment (2012 – 2014)Us Navy Apr 2012 - Mar 2014Camp Lejeune, NcMy unique qualifications in shore bombardment while on a destroyer faciliated an opportunity to spend a tour with the U.S. Marine Corps. My primary responsibility was the execution and training for Naval Gunfire to support Marine amphibious operations. To say it was a culture shock is an understatement - and I absolutely loved my job. I was able to become highly specialized, and master my craft with a very small team. A childhood dream of joining the miltary to "shoot guns and blow things up" was realized in a big way. That being said, as a Naval Officer in a Marine Corps Infantry battalion, it was also a great exercise in searching for creative ways to bring value outside of my own designated area of expertise. Highlights: I deployed with the 26th MEU to support Operation Enduring Freedom in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. By leveraging my expertise in nautical navigation, shipboard architecture, and maritime interdiction (boarding), I was able to support Marine Reconnaissance units during their own interdiction operations. We also had the chance to train extensively with Greek Special Operations personnel for three weeks at the NATO Maritime Interdiction Center in Souda Bay, Crete. -
Assistant Weapons Officer, Uss John S. Mccain Ddg56 (2009 – 2012)Us Navy Jul 2009 - Feb 2012Yokosuka, JapanBeing a brand new junior officer aboard a U.S. Navy Destroyer is complete and utter baptism by fire. You will wear several hats, sometimes simultaneously. My primary focus was as the Gunnery Division Officer. I directed, trained, and managed 11 Sailors in the maintenance and accountability for $100 million of shipboard weapons and munitions. A close second was competency as a professional mariner; extensive knowledge in nautical navigation, naval warfare, and gas turbine engineering are needed to achieve the required qualifications. Additionally, I was responsible for the program management and physical execution for Anti-Terrorism (physical security), Boarding Teams (maritime law enforcement), and small arms qualifications (300+ Sailors). I was also responsible for leading the team which executed shore bombardment (essentially artillery from a boat). Highlights: I was in Japan when the earthquake and ensuing Tsunami hit the nothern coast. My ship was one of the first to arrive for Search and Rescue in aftermath. All of the training and hardwork prior to that paid off in a big way. Later on, as a result of my of demonstrated poise and confidence during that time I was selected from 18 junior officers by my ship’s Captain to compete in a Navy-wide ship-handling competition. -
Cart AttendantIron Horse Golf Club Apr 2002 - Oct 2004Leawood, KsMy first "real world" experience in being a jack of all trades. There was the usual bit of cleaning golf carts, the bathroom facilities, and driving the range cart (on that note, leave the poor kid alone). There was even changing the occasional tire or dealing with a wayward racoon or skunk. In retrospect however, the real value came in my first professional opportunities to: • Anticipate problems• Read people and interact with customers• Leadership by example• Followership
