Working within the Business Support Team for the Medicine Management & Pharmacy Services CSU at St James' University Hospital, I am Personal Assistant to the Deputy General Manager and provide administrative support to the wider General Management and Senior Leadership Teams. As the Communications Lead for the CSU, I am also responsible for managing our social media accounts, producing key monthly newsletters for distribution to our almost 800 staff, and supporting with our work on staff engagement. Ad hoc duties include coordinating events, supporting management cases, and reviewing the MMPS pages of the Trust's Staff Intranet.

Rejoining the National Audit Office as a graduate trainee, I was primarily involved in the financial audit work of the Department for Work and Pensions, as well as its arms-length bodies. Having taken on various duties during the planning, interim and final stages of the audit cycle, I have gained good experience in the testing of different account areas. I also had the opportunity to contribute to the scoping stage of the upcoming Value for Money study titled 'Responding to the increased demand for benefits'.

After joining the social mobility charity during my second year of university, I attended insight days with a number of reputable partner employers to aid my preparation in applying for and taking on a graduate role. These firms included PwC, KPMG, Macmillan and Aviva. Upon completing the 'Government and Public Sector' career course, attending a number of insight days and video forums and having various 1-to-1 sessions with my programme coordinator, I was awarded with a certificate of achievement for my commitment to the scheme.

Having both cleaning and catering responsibilites within this role, my general duties involved maintaining an extremely high standard of cleanliness on the ward, serving meals to patients with a variety of dietary requirements, communicating efficiently with colleagues, patients and visitors alike and abiding by strict regulations and policies. Working in the hospital environment is where my passion for the public sector began, and I was often praised for embodying the 'Leeds Ways' and putting the patient at the forefront of my work.

During a brief career break from my role within the NHS, I participated in a short internship with the National Audit Office, primarily working on a high-profile Value for Money output titled 'Investigation into underpayment of State Pension'. Alongside contributing to the analytics and main body of this publication, I undertook some auditing duties relating to the accounts of the Department for Work and Pensions, and subsequently was offered a position on the Chartered Accountant graduate scheme to return to once I had completed my degree in the following summer.

Through a partnership with my university, I was teamed with a trainee of the PwC graduate scheme to have tailored 1-to-1 sessions discussing graduate job applications, university and exams. From the insight that I gained from this experience, I was encouraged to apply to the 'Big 4' as well as public sector audit firms.

Working in the busy open kitchen of a local store, my main responsibilities included serving customers in-store and over the telephone, preparing quality food to a high standard, maintaining the cleanliness of the working environment and assisting with late-night closing shifts.

A temporary position in a city centre store to assist the demand brought by the festive period. Responsibilities included working on the tills, stocking the shop floor, unpacking and organising large deliveries and encouraging customers to purchase commissioned products to help reach store and regional targets.
