With a lifelong fascination for large-scale systems and a knack for big-picture thinking, I have always been drawn to understanding how things work on a grand scale. From marveling at the infrastructure outside my car window to designing redevelopment projects in high school, I have continuously sought to explore and understand complex systems.After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a background in mechanical engineering and entrepreneurship, I discovered my true calling in systems engineering—a field perfectly suited to my inquisitive nature. Pursuing further, I obtained my master’s degree in systems engineering from Colorado State University, where I had the opportunity to conduct and present research on the urban transition. I hope to continue this pursuit and contribute toward creating a more functional, sustainable, and equitable world.As a self-starter with a ‘what’s next’ mindset, I thrive when given significant challenges or transformative work. You will often find me next to a whiteboard breaking down complex problems or spearheading a new system, process, or way of thinking. Either way, I am constantly pursuing new opportunities to push the envelope.Beyond my professional endeavors, I am passionate about STEM teaching and mentoring. From teaching first grade LEGO leagues to running high school engineering clubs to even dropping eggs from ladders during a science show, I have grasped many opportunities to bring science to the community. I have found so much joy in helping others grasp challenging concepts and in making science and engineering engaging and accessible. Lastly, my love for travel fuels my sense of adventure and fosters my belief in our shared humanity. Exploring diverse landscapes has only shown me that we have far more in common than we do differences. As such, I wholeheartedly believe in the world and in its people. This alone makes the outcomes I strive to achieve, whether it is improving sustainable energy, securing food systems, or providing clean water for those who need it, profoundly worthwhile.
