"A Native American Perspective on Navigating the Academic World with Resilience and Honoring the Wisdom of Native Elders" is the title of my dissertation. This title reflects my dedication to uplifting Native people and helping Native students succeed in school. My problem of practice is the low graduation rate of Native students which is currently and historically around 50 percent, the highest of any minority despite being the smallest minority. At just two percent of the population, Native Americans, Native Americans are often called the “Invisible Minority” My work intends to help change that and highlight the resilience and creativity of Native Americans.
