My responsibilities in this position include a wide variety of support related functions including, but not limited to, development of technical documents related to marketing, sales, application use, training, repair, maintenance, installation, and phone support of Shimadzu assigned product lines. I travel to and provide customer contact for specialized support. Other responsibilities include training customers and SSI staff, as well as, other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Dissertation Title: "Synthesis or biocompatible Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffolds for the Expansion of Breast Cancer Stem Cells" Research Advisor Eric Kmiec, PhD.-Synthesis of biodegradable nanofiber scaffolds for the enrichment of breast cancer stem-like cells in culture. -Synthesis of electrospun nanofiber scaffolds, using a variety of biodegradable polymers. -Characterization of materials through Fourier transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). -Knowledge and experience with sterilization, cell culture procedures, cell counting, compound microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

UV/Vis, FTIR, CLSM, SEM, DSC and XRD were analytical techniques regularly used.

Tutored 7th and 8th graders in Algebra and general Mathematics skills in preparation for Pennsylvania State Testing. I also assisted with 1st grade learning of colors, shapes, and introducing letters and early phonics education.

Organic chemistry intern working on the synthesis of novel polymers for use in photovolteic cells. Worked extensively with column chromatography and Nuclear Magnetic resonance for the synthesis and characterization of acceptor-donor-acceptor monomers.

Optimization of the Molybdenum Blue Reaction for the detection of parts per million scale detection of arsenic-laced drinking water. Utilized flow-injection spectrophotometry.
