However, progression of cancer during therapy is inevitable due to the acquisition of drug resistance. One of my current project (as Project Team Leader) is to address above mentioned problem (in my case it is drug resistance lung cancer.)As PTL, I lead a multidisciplinary team of scientist across various departments and oversee an external collaboration (with a pharma giant), in order to identify novel development candidates [as treatment for drug resistance lung cancer]My second project is also in oncology, with unique, first-in-class mechanism of action that targets several potential unmet needs in oncology. The project involved synthesis of NCE’s that acts as dual cSrc and Jak inhibitors, and inhibit STAT3 activation, which in turn halts abnormal cell growth. In June 2013, A highly potent, selective, efficacious and orally bioavailable novel small molecule [Debio0617B] was nominated as development candidate. Debio0617B is expected to enter clinical development in Q42014.In addition to my responsibilities as PTL and Chemistry Lead Coordinator, I also have responsibilities in proposing and implementing in-house projects, leading and sitting on development project teams.Achievement: - 1 Patent, 1 Patent pending and 1 Development candidate (Debio 0617B). In my case, objectives are to design and develop drugs for treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis (in Anti-inflammation project) and also for Multiple Myeloma (in Oncology project).A number of molecules were designed and synthesized to study structure activity relationship (SAR). Designed and developed more than two lead molecules in muscarinic (M3) receptor antagonist program for treatment of Urinary Incontinence (UI). Currently, a phase II clinical trials are planned on New Chemical Entity (NCE) code named RBx 9841. Carried out scale up of above mentioned NCE on Kilogram scale in given time period. Carried out multi-step/ stereo selective organic synthesis.Achievement : 1 publication, 1 patent and 1 molecule in clinical trails [ Phase I completed ].

The compounds synthesised were tested for efficacy by labeling with technetium isotope and by injecting in both control and sarcoma-120 bearing Swiss Wister mice and monitored the spatial distribution of radio isotope by -camera .The non linear properties of porphyrins were tested by Z-Scan method with help of Ti-Sapphire Argon ion laser producing femtosecond pulse .Excellent opportunity to learn Organic Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Physics and Biology.
