Supporting adults with complex medical and behavioral health needs through person-centered, trauma-informed care management activities, including comprehensive assessment, motivational interviewing, supportive counseling, and connection to a wide range of community service, resources, and entitlements.

Oversaw the Mental Health First Aid program in Maryland, including developing program and grant budgets, implementing existing and new curriculum, and expanding the reach of this program. This role did not end up being a good fit for me, so I left to pursue clinical practice.

• Development and direct oversight of BHSB’s procurement process for awarding public funds for behavioral health services, including writing the organization’s Procurement Guide and a Procedures Manual for procurement staff. BHSB released 9-15 Requests for Proposals (RFPs) each year, under my direction.• Development and direct oversight of BHSB’s master’s level Social Work Intern Program, which regularly hosts four interns from the University of Maryland and Morgan State University Schools of Social Work. I developed a Social Work Intern Guide for field instructors, and I was the point of contact for the schools.• Program planning, implementation, and oversight activities, including completing needs assessments, writing grant proposals, developing key performance indicators, meeting grant requirements, troubleshooting and providing technical assistance, and evaluating performance. I have managed several programs at various stages in their development from the initial planning to grant close-out. I have also provided support to long-standing programs to improve operations.• Coordination, facilitation, and support activities for the Collaborative Planning and Implementation Committee (CPIC), the multi-system stakeholder group addressing the behavioral health components of the Baltimore Police Department’s consent decree, including co-chairing the Gap Analysis Subcommittee, which completed a Gap Analysis of the Public Behavioral Health System and developed a detailed Implementation Plan to address the gaps.• Development of new processes or improvement of existing processes, including writing policy and training documents, creating tracking systems, and managing associated organizational change.

Contract Management- Developed and managed publicly and privately funded contracts for a variety of mental health services in Baltimore City- Monitored programmatic and fiscal deliverables to ensure quality services were being provided- Provided ongoing technical assistance and consultation to community service providersSystem-Level Planning- Engaged stakeholders in system-level planning to identify service gaps and other opportunities to improve services- Created new initiatives to address issues identified, particularly in the areas of the criminal justice system and older adult health- Managed special projects in collaboration with local and state partners, aimed to improve continuity of and access to careCare management - Reviewed applications and authorizations for services based on medical necessity criteria and other relevant policies and regulations- Provided consultation to individuals and families who called for assistance with issues related to mental health, including behavioral health crises, mental health care/provider searches, and navigating the public mental health system
