Freelance artist currently working on a commission basis. Commissioned work includes graphic design (e.g. menus and logos), web design, customer greeting and holiday cards, illustrations, clip art, art for educational materials (e.g. calendar patterns), business cards, and assistance establishing social media presence. This position is directly below the General Manager. Equal front and back of house responsibilities. Includes assisting with or filling in for any position in the restaurant (from cashier to line cook to service manager). Supervising the entire staff including junior management, creating all front of house schedules, assisting with back of house and manager scheduling, training new staff members in all positions, opening and closing responsibilities, cash handling, register operating system trouble shooting, preparing and leading staff meetings, disciplinary counseling for staff as needing including creating and executing corrective action plans, helping lead manager meetings, inventory, ordering, production, working with vendors, helping develop and execute seasonal specials and promotions, ensuring safety and health code standards are maintained, interviewing and hiring new staff for front and back of house, administrating work (all opening and closing documents, record keeping, personnel files, GL coding invoices, expense reports, new hire paperwork, etc.). Additionally, work as part of a team of 3 catering managers in all aspects of catering. Duties including speaking with potential customers, helping market catering services, designing menus to fit customer budgets and specifications, developing off menu catering options to meet special requests, maintaining inventory and ordering of catering materials, designing event timelines and check lists to maintain organization for larger events, preparing and presenting catering orders to company specifications, innovating new and customized presentation options for special events, training employees to execute catering orders, developing catering guides to promote consistency throughout the brand.

This position was primarily front of house management with light back of house responsibilities. Front of house responsibilities included filling in as cashier when needed, running expo to insure food quality and speed between front and back of house, supervising other staff, delegating tasks as needed, etc. Back of house tasks including light vegetable prep work, filling in as an extra line cook when needed, helping take and prepare catering orders, monitoring cleanliness of the kitchen. Management responsibilities included supervising front and back of house staff during shifts, making the schedule for 10-15 front of house staff members, planning and leading monthly staff meetings, reviewing new applications and conducting first round interviews, light administrative paperwork (e.g. end of day reports, coding invoices), inventorying product, preparing production list for the kitchen, placing orders, money handling, opening and closing the restaurant, working as part of the management team to control expenses (e.g. food cost, labor), insure health code standards were maintained, and staff were meeting company expectations.

Cashier, customer service, basic food prep including milk shakes and smoothies, setting up dessert and fruit displays, serving and packaging food for customers, light janitorial work (maintaining cleanliness of bathroom and dining room), restocking packaging and other materials as they were delivered, assorted odd jobs associated with the daily functioning of the front of house at a quick service restaurant.

I provided one on one respite care for individuals with special needs in order to provide respite to their primary caregivers. This included going on outings, staying in with individuals while their caregivers went out, supervising mealtime, and hosting overnights on weekends.
