This position works within the Sustainable Business Council team, an organisation that exists to mobilise New Zealand’s most ambitious businesses to build a thriving and sustainable future for all. Before working for the Climate Leaders Coalition and the Sustainable Business Council, I led sustainability for a government agency and a NZX-listed organisation. Key achievements include creating climate change and sustainability strategies and initiatives, focusing on climate change governance, risk management, targets and metrics, greenhouse gas reporting, and leading holistic approaches to systematic change for greater sustainability impact.I am also a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Board Member currently for two organisations, one that creates opportunities for children to learn life and social skills by introducing productive gardens into schools, and another for creating an Aotearoa where people with disabilities are valued for who they are and have every opportunity to live full and happy lives. I have held Co-Chair positions for a not-for-profit organisation in the healthcare sector and a network within the Ministry for the Environment’s work programme. My academic journey has been a testament to my dedication and passion. I was honoured as one of Auckland University of Technology’s most outstanding business students and was granted access to the prestigious Beta Gamma Sigma elite group for highest achieving students. I have completed my Master of Business Administration (MBA), and I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Business Administration at the University of Otago. These academic pursuits have not only equipped me with a deep understanding of business dynamics but also instilled in me a strong desire to use my knowledge to drive positive influence and create new opportunities for businesses. My professional experience spans a wide range of areas, including sustainability, climate change, risk management, business transformation, finance, management, human resources, project management, auditing, retail, and customer experience. Board MemberOke Charity Dec 2021 - PresentOke provide Kiwi kids the opportunity to learn life and social skills by introducing productive gardens into schools. By giving the kids the tools to learn, Oke are empowering schools and communities, ultimately providing a better place for everyone. At Oke Charity, our mission is to cultivate a love for learning and healthy living in children by building school gardens throughout Aotearoa. We believe that every child should have access to fresh, nutritious food and the opportunity to learn about where their food comes from.Through our work, we aim to inspire and educate our tamariki on the importance of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community engagement. We strive to create safe and nurturing outdoor spaces where children can connect with nature, develop life skills, and build meaningful relationships with their peers. We are committed to promoting equity and inclusivity in our projects, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or ability, has equal access to the benefits of our school gardens. Our goal is to empower children to become confident, resilient, and socially responsible individuals who are equipped to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.Through Growing A Future, Oke deliver a garden to each school, enabling the kids, teachers and local community to get growing. The garden is built through a community working bee (in just ONE day) and includes all that is required to make it sustainable; raised beds, greenhouse, composting solutions, kids tools, teacher tools, irrigation, fruit trees etc. Each Growing a Future project for a school is worth over $25,000. We work hard all year to raise enough funds so our “Growing a Future” gardens don’t cost the school a cent. We are very grateful to work with some amazing sponsors, funders, volunteers and contributors who support us to make this possible. -
