During my time as an undergraduate at Gettysburg College I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences complemented by a minor in Biology. The diverse array of courses I engaged in has prepared me for a career in the medical field. While obtaining my undergraduate degree I also enrolled in an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification course to further expand my skill set. As an EMT it is my responsibility to respond to emergency calls promptly, assess the scene and provide immediate medical assistance to patients, administer basic life support techniques as per protocol and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to stabilize patients for transportation. Spanning the second half of my undergraduate degree to the present day, I have had the opportunity of serving as a Medical Assistant at Breezy Point Dermatology. This job required me to closely collaborate with numerous physicians to ensure the smooth progression of patients' visits, check and update patient records daily, review and obtain new medical histories, and answer patients' questions before reporting back to the supervising physician.
