Therapist's primary functions are to : Provide Services to parents and children with open CPS cases. Therapist determines based on psychological evaluations and testing,client history, and current client mental status, the most appropriate plan of action for therapeutic intervention. The goal is to assist the client in understanding and Implementing socially appropriate, responsible and tolerant behavior . Some clients are in need of support to manage the disease of addiction, while others may struggle with domestic violence, or various other issues that Impair one's ability to live a quality life.Therapist is responsible for treatment planning , documentation of weekly therapy sessions, monthly reviews, and closure summaries . Therapist is also responsible for psychosocial assessments and Family therapy.

Facilitated various group therapy sessions with young children, adolescents, and adults. Conducted family sessions, and individual therapy to identify their patient's problematic issues. Evaluated patient’s behavior to determine continued progress through assigned treatment programs. Crisis intervention counseling and patient/family education. Assisted the physician in determining and facilitating the patient disposition and referrals to treatment and community resources post discharge. This includes facilitating involuntary commitments as directed by the physician. Assuring patient safety for behavioral health patients. Insured that all activities under counseling treatments and rehabilitation programs are carried out to completion.

Responsibilities included completing intakes of offenders with mental health histories, determining current mental status of incarcerated patients and establishing entitlement to services. Communicating and corresponding directly with psychiatrists, law enforcement officials, and other members of an interdisciplinary team. Counseled and examined patient's thoughts, feelings and behaviors to create a plan for improvement and make referrals to a psychiatrist or other professionals if the situation warranted. Responsible for responding to crisis situations and advocating for incapacitated persons in dealing with law enforcement.

Managed a caseload of 32 developmentally disabled adults. Facilitated annual family conferences, recommended vocational and recreational programs, and provided group and individual counseling. Interacted with individuals closely related to a patient, such as friends or parents. Administer medications to patients and monitored the progress throughout the treatment. Gathered patient information and keep the records updated with the relevant data. Maintained effective communication with the medical personnel, patient and patient family and provided help with the day-to-day activities.

Supervised behavior modification programs, counseled, guided and coached adults with functional disabilities to develop artistic and manual skills by using adaptive teaching techniques and methods of instruction.
