I graduated from St Scholastica's Collegein 1985. Whilst I was a student I served on the SRC andwas the school's Vice-captain, promoting awareness of issuesand was gifted the christian Leadership Award in year 12. Following school, Icompleted a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Maths and Science Teaching atSydney College of Advanced Education and received a graduate scholarship to teach mathematics in South-western Sydney. My strong commitment to social justice, equity anddiversity has continued in my adult life and isreflected in my career choices and volunteer work inthe community. I have worked in several voluntary roles in my children's schools and a grass roots mental health organisation Grow where I have applied myself for 16 years thus far. I have presented the group at state level.I am a committed and active member of thelocal and wider community and have served approximately 7 years as a driver in the Australian Army Reserve. I worked as a teacher for Australian Volunteer's Abroad in East Africa. I have run my own tutoring business including managing other staff since 2006. I taught casually at an Intensive English Centre for 6 years where I dealt with many international students and some of them were from refugee backgrounds. I enjoy working with young people and possibly igniting their innate love of learning which I certainly have deep in my heart.I look forward to possibly meeting you face to face so I can answer any possible questions.
