As a mentor for the Students of Leadership program, I lead students in developing essential life skills that will personally and professionally guide them. I encourage building individual strengths, team-building skills, self-evaluation and reflection, critical thinking, problem-solving, and promoting service leadership and community engagement.We encourage students to believe in themselves and live their own truths.

- Manage a 300+ caseload of new, transfer and personal interest community college students- Act as a liaison and review caseload to determine if there are barriers to success and progress- Work with personal interest and continuing students to navigate registration. Educate students on tools and resources- Evaluate multiple measures to assess in testing placement- Review and maintain comprehensive student tracking for progress and success, to ensure deadlines are met for completing admission/ registration requirements - Receive and reviews transcripts, converting and entering data into the Banner system- Track and follow-up with students regarding completion of FAFSA submission and required additional documents. Provide overall instruction with financial aid policies and procedures to maintain eligibility- Teach students decision-making, problem solving, and life skills to help cultivate self-direction in order to persist toward goal achievement. Coach students with adjustment to college-life issues, navigating college systems (i.e. Degreeworks, YC Portal, Canvas, etc.) and facilitate access to campus or community resources- Collaborate with all areas of Yavapai College to support a positive, engaged student experience- General cashier duties, including tuition payments and miscellaneous purchases
