Transition Projects is a non-profit organization committed to helping homeless individuals and families transition from homeless to housing. Each year Transition Projects assists 10,000+ individuals experiencing homelessness in Multnomah, Clackamas and Clark Counties. On any given night they provide 800+ people suffering from homelessness a safe place to sleep. - Represent Veteran’s Program on state and national committees, at the legislature, at news conferences, veteran benefit fairs/conferences, meetings with partner organizations, and other public forums.- Provides leadership for the Veteran’s Program through management of the statewide delivery of the program. - Serves as grant generalist and assists other staff as assigned by grantee to include, special projects, representing agency on committees and workgroups with staff, partners and the public.- Provide program specific training to managers, veteran program staff and partners and promote the hiring of veterans.

- Assist veterans with significant barriers to employment by providing services including comprehensive assessment of education, skills, and abilities in order to identify employment barriers and set attainable employment goals. - Provide group and individual career coaching, assist in the development of communication skills, interviewing skills in order to help individuals set career goals and develop individual employment plans.- Host/Market Veteran Job Fairs, Stand Downs and events throughout the Portland Metro area.

Interview a high volume of job seekers and collect detailed information to determine transferable skills, barriers to employment and employment goals.Match job seekers to employment openings based on the job requirements and refer the most highly qualified applicants.Refer candidates to and assist in the presentation of resume writing, interviewing skills, social networking and job searching workshops as necessary.Develop and maintain relationships with employers/businesses to provide employment opportunities to a diverse population of job seekers.
