Coordinated 7 hour interview day with potential fellows. Conducted personal interviews and determined 3-5 candidates' aptitude for teaching in high-needs schools.

Selected (less than 10% of applicants accepted in 2006) to train and teach in high-needs schools across the United States. Worked with Title-I students 1-5 behind grade level years in content, literacy and skill knowledge. Raised achievement on state and national standardized tests in all subjects and grade levels, from ~20th percentile to 50th on national testing and 55th percentile to 80th on state testing. Coached 8th graders scoring in the bottom quartile for the TN standardized essay-writing exam with 60% average gains (20-80% range).

Assisted in planning and development of Junior Ambassadors website to provide teachers with free international educational curriculum. Planned and executed the first Annual Trade Conference hosting Kansas’ top national trade partner countries, including recruiting translators, volunteers and local sponsors.

Designed and led a multi-state competitive event in the first year of the organization's existence. The event took place 4 hours from my home in an unfamiliar state, so all preparations were done remotely or on self-financed trips to the area in the weeks preceding. Preparation for the show included: -researching and recruiting high school musical groups to apply-researching, negotiating and booking an appropriate venue for the show-researching, recruiting and coordinating highly regarded judges for the competition-managing and negotiating light, sound and backstage setup and staff-coordination of applications, acceptance letters, travel and lodging accommodations for performing groups-networking and relationship building with staff and leadership at the hosting school in the months leading up-30+ hours of flyering, calls and emails to local TV and radio stations-recruiting and managing a staff of 25 volunteers (some whose travel I supplemented) for the day of the event-opening, emceeing and presenting results at the eventOf all the state shows held across the country, the KS/MO show was the only show to attract enough attendees to cover expenses and nearly sold out. As a result I was flown by the national director to assist for the National Championship show held in Washington DC.

Data processed and monitored 200+ student files for the Kauffman Scholars program, created and organized archive file database. Compiled 700+ schools’ data for a report to the Executive Board on common traits correlated between standout high-achieving schools located in high-risk areas. Produced Intern Video and final All-Hands meeting for Kauffman staff.
