My occupational goal is to obtain employment as a Hospice Social Worker. I have a strong passion for those at the end of their journey. I want to help with individual's last wishes and make sure that they are not in any discomfort. I believe everyone's thoughts, perceptions, and life experiences are unique and should be celebrated, appreciated, and valued through out life but especially at the end of their journey with us. Work History:Student Coordinator of the UNT Women's Center:I gained experience in creating and coordinating numerous educational programs. I creating strong connections with many non-profit organizations for educational and referral purposes. I planned, organized, and curated an art show called "Artistically Speaking". I helped plan and organize an activism march from UNT to meet with TWU students demonstrators and Friends of the Family at the Denton square where we held a demonstration. This march and demonstration was called "Ignite the Night" and brought awareness about sexual assaults. Claims Examiner with Texas Workforce Commission:I made eligibility and qualification determination on unemployment compensation claims based on the current unemployment laws. These cases covered availability, ability, remuneration and wages in lieu of notice, quit and fired cases, worker's compensation, disability cases, driver's license, and many other cases with a variety of issues. I provided quality non-bias customer service to both claimants and employers while making determinations in a timely manner. Currently as a Student Assistant at the UNT Multicultural Center: I am cataloging the center library into a data base so that it can in the near future be connected with the Library of Congress. I am making new connections and getting reacquainted with non-profit organizations to start coming up with new ideas for programing in the Fall and Spring of 2013.
