As a Senior Program Officer focused on gender equality and inclusion, I work with the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) team to foster socially inclusive and sustainable action that builds resilience to climate change and natural hazards in the Global South.

As a gender justice specialist and facilitator, recent projects included:- Team Lead - Artificial Intelligence for Development Africa (AI4D), International Development Research Centre, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency: Leading a 9-person team of Gender Advisors in a 3-year gender and inclusion support project including facilitation, needs assessment, mentorship, peer learning and technical support.- Team Lead & Gender Advisor - International Development Research Centre: Co-leading a 6-person team in a 3-year gender and inclusion program with the Education and Science division. Guiding staff and partners via processes related to gender action learning, facilitation, and mentorship.- Gender Advisor - Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Information Exchange (KIX): Gender equality and inclusion needs assessment, strategy and capacity building to strengthen intersectional GEI in global education systems.- Facilitator - Oxfam Canada: Guiding Oxfam staff through a three-day workshop using their Capacity Assessment Tool for Gender Just Organizations, identifying organizational strengthening priorities and an action plan to take this work forward.- Gender Justice Consultant - Oxfam Canada: Research and facilitation to determine future support to international women's rights organizations, including an organization-wide consensus-building process and a report on 'Working with and for Women's Rights Organizations'

Member of the leadership team overseeing Impacti’s work to offer specialized tools and advice to private sector actors working to deepen their commitment to gender equality, inclusion and the Sustainable Development Goals. Focused on working collaboratively with SMEs to communicate their sustainability impact while integrating gender equality considerations.

Clients and projects in this role included:- Team Lead - Mawazo Institute: Strategy consultancy comprising a listening tour to guide succession planning and a five-year strategic plan for a women-led research institute based in Nairobi.- Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Landscape mapping of think tanks in 15 countries to advise on the Foundation's engagement with policy partners in relation to global health, gender, pandemic preparedness and economic recovery.- DFID/FCDO, UNICEF, World Bank, On Think Tanks: Communications and uptake strategy for the evaluation of a 5-year Gender Responsive Social Protection programme.- Data2X: Knowledge translation for a gender data advocacy report.- International Development Research Centre: (1) Design of a monitoring, evaluation and learning strategy for IDRC's $25 million CAD COVID-19 programming including technical reporting tools, an impact pathway and a gender guide; (2) Synthesis and uptake of two major evaluations on leaders and leading organizations.

Senior member of a global team managing a 10-year, $200 million CAD multi-donor Think Tank Initiative with the Hewlett Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UK Department for International Development and Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation. Oversaw a multi-million dollar portfolio of organizational strengthening and capacity development support to Southern think tanks, specializing in gender, action learning, knowledge translation and global health programming. Created and led a TTI Gender Working Group and collaborated on efforts to shape IDRC's gender framework, statement, and approach to gender transformative research. Developed and implemented a successful 5-year Communications and Engagement strategy for synthesizing and sharing results and lessons learned, and facilitated gender workshops and learning processes.

Managed and oversaw an impact stories series, using collaborative approaches with grantees to produce 48 fully designed case studies in under a year. Led a large-scale peer review process for think tanks in Africa and South Asia. Wrote and edited content for knowledge products including an annual report, website, print materials, and blogs.

Undertook policy analysis, developed communications tools, and wrote briefing reports and press releases. Advised on amendments to international fair trade standards on women’s economic empowerment. Managed large-scale programs and national campaigns, including Fairtrade Towns and Fairtrade Coops, as well as social media efforts. Liaised with the media and diverse stakeholders.

Developed and implemented the worker-owned co-operative's communications strategy with a view to sharing impact stories of fair trade producers, particularly women, in the global South. Managed projects, media relations, outreach and advocacy, the website and a blog. Researched, wrote briefs, and reported on fair trade, producers and agricultural commodities. Participated in participatory action research with co-ops in Panama and Costa Rica. Member of the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2010.

Managed 40 staff at a fair trade eco-lodge in northern Mozambique. Developed and managed health and small business development projects for local women. Developed marketing plans and drafted funding proposals for grants and statutory funding.

Developed and implemented the project’s communications strategy, working closely with the media team. Initiated and managed relationships with senior executives at national partner organizations. Oversaw the project budget and allocated grants amongst partners based on project proposals.
