I worked as a television news anchor, investigative reporter and producer for more than 15 years. I began my career in student television at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my degree in Journalism with a specialty in Broadcast News. I loved telling stories as the weekend reporter in small town Texas, as an investigative reporter whose stories helped change both state and federal laws, and as the evening news anchor in Austin, where I earned a Lone Star Emmy Award for news anchoring. I retired from TV News in 2017, but I remain a dedicated storyteller and advocate through my freelance writing and voiceover work. I also enjoy helping others navigate the often complicated worlds of media and journalism as a media and communications consultant. In 2018, I started an apparel and accessories company called Olive & Auger, which features positive messages like my daily reminder to myself to 'Be a Good Human.'
