My position at Walker includes conducting complex technical analysis for transportation planning and parking studies. I assist on the creation of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plans, large municipal parking studies, transportation and parking plans for large private entities, and shared parking studies for public and private sector clients. The analysis often includes a comprehensive list of recommendations to assist our clients in developing solutions to their transportation and parking needs. Additional tasks include: - Spatial analysis using ArcGIS mapping software. - Create visual representations of major project findings using Adobe Illustrator. - Compile report documents using Adobe InDesign.

My duties at W-Trans included writing and conducting analysis for Traffic Impact Studies (TIS), Environmental Impact Reports (EIR), General Plans, and Specific Plans. This included operational analysis of intersections and roadways as well determining the adequacy of bike, pedestrian, and transit facilities. Another major duty I had at W-Trans was writing and conducting analysis for parking studies. This includes analyzing parking occupancy data, determining peak parking demands for varying land uses, using and understanding the Urban Land Institute’s Shared Parking Model, and using local government codes and regulations to determine parking adequacy. I also wrote Transportation Demand Management Plans and have experience creating these plans for office and residential projects.

I wrote a detailed report on the current status of the Resident Services Department with a focus on youth programs and the Family Self Sufficiency programs. The report included recommendations for future improvements of these programs through analysis of interviews, field work, and a literature review on housing combined with resident services. I also managed the master database of the Housing Authority’s affordable housing inventory.

I wrote and edited land use permits and exemptions for oil related development in Santa Barbara County. I also prepared maps for permits, exemptions, site plans, and environmental review using GIS software. Additionally, I assisted staff in administrative and organizational tasks, primarily assembling land use documents for clients to be reviewed by Santa Barbara County for environmental compliance.

I assisted staff in writing land use permits, CEQA exemptions, and staff reports for current planning projects. I also assisted staff with developing the City's Special Events Ordinance through outreach events and compiling research on Special Events Ordinances in other California cities. I also assisted staff in the development of the Eastern Goleta Valley Community Plan update; specifically in regards to affordable housing site assessment. I also provided general support to staff by helping set up community meetings, conducting research as requested, compiling documents, and assisting on writing sections of current and long-range planning documents.
