Shannon has extensive experience drafting both basic and complex estate planning documents, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney/Living Wills, and various Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, such as Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs), Special Needs Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs), Qualified Personal Residence Trusts (QPRTs), Charitable Remainder Trust (CRTs), and Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGTs). Shannon works with clients to design and implement estate plans with customized dispositions and tax planning. This work may include coordinating beneficiary designations for life insurance and retirement accounts and preparing gift tax returns. Shannon also works with family business owners to develop and implement succession plans. In addition, Shannon’s practice involves the administration of decedents’ estates and the filing of related tax returns. Shannon is an elected member of the Probate and Trust Law Section Council of the Allegheny County Bar Association, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association as well as a member of the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh.Shannon also serves as Secretary on the Executive Committee for the Mt. Lebanon Community Foundation and is a member of the Pittsburgh Symphony Association.
