I enjoy working with small business entrepreneurs in the Central Virginia area. I allocate much of my time to “Technical Assistance” (TA), which supports all of CIC’s entrepreneurs. This can be anything from being a person to bounce ideas off of to looking over business plans and financials and overall being a hub to help them gain momentum with their business idea. I particularly pride myself on good organization and structure! I also coordinate CIC’s Zion’s Crossroads 17-week Entrepreneurial Workshop, which serves Fluvanna, Louisa, and other surrounding counties. I strive to create a safe, respectful, fun, and stimulating environment where participants can be challenged to grow and feel supported in their endeavors. I also support responsibilities related to the Charlottesville Entrepreneur Workshop. As CIC grows, I identify, train, and coordinate workgroup leaders, discussion leaders, and other volunteers. This involves identifying best practices, providing educational updates as needed, and assisting with technology, as we also use an online platform in addition to experiential learning. I work closely with CIC’s mentorship program and serve as a mentor to entrepreneurs as needed. I am also responsible for screening mentor applications, facilitating mentor matches, and performing check-ins. As a micro-lending program, I am gaining momentum in this area as a striving loan officer. This is important as I process and record payments from our classes and loans. I maintain volunteer and advocate relations, field, respond to and record program inquiries, and prepare and deliver outreach presentations to the larger community. I absolutely love to network. On any given month, you can find me at Interagency Council Meetings, Chamber of Commerce events, and BNI meetings, to name a few. I find great peace in other matters, such as maintaining thorough records of all internal and external activities and keeping up with outcomes data.
