As the Career Education Specialist, I support all career activities through the Hamburg Area School District, including state requirements, and serve as a vital link between the school and community to support career exploration and opportunity development. This position implements the District's comprehensive career education program, in alignment with the PA Career Education & Work Standards. It also serves as the primary liaison between Berks Career & Technology Centers, the business community, and the Hamburg Area School District. Finally, support is provided to the school counseling program, particularly within the career development component for students in all grade levels.

As Director of Community Engagement I am responsible for acting as a leader and Penn State liaison to the local community. This position serves as the campus' community collaborator, working with community members and leaders to bring the expertise, research, and resources of Penn State University to bear on pressing problems, including community revitalization and economic development.The Director oversees all activities for youth; professional development programming that assists working adults and employers keep pace with their ever-changing training and educational needs; and LionLaunch. LionLaunch is a community-based entrepreneurship program that helps budding entrepreneurs develop and launch new businesses through a competition where winners receive startup funding; offers special programming uniquely tailored to launching startups and growing businesses in the region; and provides mentorship from industry, faculty and economic development professionals.
