An anthropologist at heart, I have explored the world, her people and cultures, serving by organizing, leading, teaching and building. At New York Cares in New York City, I created a Youth Service Program, engaging hundreds of high school seniors in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan in service work in their own neighborhoods. After moving to El Salvador with my husband, I started my entrepreneurial career. First, I founded my own SAT PREP and College and Career Coaching business, helping Salvadoran students gain entrance to competitive universities in the USA.Together, my husband and I conceived of Cadejo Brewing Company, El Salvador's first microbrewery, which has now grown to 2 brewhouses and 12 restaurants and employs more than 275 people. In 2016, for my own children, I co-founded a Montessori School and purchased my first franchise - an Acton Academy K-12 Affiliate, which has grown from 12 to 70 families in 7 years. We employ 16 women who are rapidly developing as highly professional and experienced Montessori guides.I also had the honor of hosting "The New Schools" podcast, for which I interviewed many of the greats of alternative, innovative and self-directed learning.
