My role involves working collaboratively with a larger design team to produce diagrams and visuals, as well as interrogating design options through sketches and 3d models. I also actively participate in internal design reviews, presenting these design explorations for discussion. I have also produced detailed architectural drawing packages through engaging with client and consultant requirements, and building regulations. Alongside my architectural role, I assist with day-to-day studio operations.

Throughout my second and third year at university I undertook the role of mentoring first year architecture students, helping them with the transition to higher education. This role was highly rewarding, getting to see my mentees thrive at university, as well as allowing me to act as a responsible figure for younger students. This role has helped improve my communication skills, as well as helped me to better understand the importance of pastoral and peer support throughout university.

Throughout my second and third years at the University of Sheffield I worked as a student ambassador, helping host open days as an architecture representative. This position allowed me to improve my confidence and presentation skills, often addressing large groups of prospective students to discuss my design work. Other roles included setting up for exhibitions, giving tours of the department and participating in question and answer sessions.

My position with Sheffield School of Architecture’s students for climate action group has allowed me to develop my graphic design skills into a more social media oriented position. This role allows me to improve my Adobe suite skills, creating Instagram stories and posts for upcoming events and news from the action group. This has been beneficial, allowing me to learn more about running a social media account.

During the summer between my second and third year at the University of Sheffield, I undertook a month long internship with Dearadh Zú, a zoo landscape architecture firm. I provided assistant on live projects, from initial precedent research, contributing to sketch designs and producing final rendered outputs to present to clients. This placement allowed me to further develop my software capabilities, utilising my Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills, as well as SketchUp and Revit.

Throughout my second year at the University of Sheffield I worked as a graphic designer for the student led School of Architecture Zine. This position helped develop my software skills using Adobe InDesign, illustrator and photoshop. My main responsibilities involved organising and laying out the final Zine edition, as well as creating promotional posters to encourage submissions. This was an enjoyable experience that helped develop my team working and communication skills, and develop my graphic design interests beyond my degree.

During my second year at the University of Sheffield I undertook a research internship with Ashden, a UK based climate solutions charity, and their "Let's go Zero" campaign, supporting their work in moving schools across the country in reaching net zero by 2030. My role consisted of researching green energies, particular the effects of solar energy in reducing school's energy bills. This allowed me to further skills of academic research, as well as work collaboratively with a charity organisation to help in the creation of policies.
