Working with the Board of Directors, introduced/expanded new programs identified as key to EFS’ long term strategic health, including serving as community relations liaison with community agencies to leverage impact, increasing the financial stability of child care centers in North Texas’ most economically-challenged neighborhoods, and developing innovative programs to educate home-based child care providers• Developed a Child Care Bridge Fund (CCBF) for working women which ultimately lead to the largest foundation gift ever given to the agency ($1.3 million)• Created an expert staff of Enrollment Specialists to enhance the marketing capabilities and business skills of EFS’ most threatened centers of quality• Quickly extended the organization’s professional development impact to improve the care of over 300 children in licensed and registered home-based environments

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Managed the agency’s largest operating department (16 employees) in a motivated work environment. Successfully executed EFS’ core “Four Steps to Excellence” program representing 80% of its $2.5 million budget and virtually all its on-the-ground impact. Created and later greatly improved the program to transform low-quality child care centers in poverty settings into nationally recognized early learning programs • Established productive quality-building relationships with over 80 child care centers, growing the number of partners by 75% and the number of high-quality, nationally-accredited affiliates by 125%• Conceived and directed major improvements in management systems, including the development of research-based standards, measurement tools and a customized database application, that accelerated operating success• Coordinated longitudinal studies of outcomes with the University of Texas at Dallas • Supervised the strategic emphasis, daily operations management, budget and /financial controls and human resources activities for the department.
