Individuals and organizations all around the world want to learn the basic principles of Self-Determination Theory (SDT) and apply it to their practice (e.g., management teams to motivate employees, health care providers to motivate patients, coaches to motivate athletes, developers to motivate customers) in order to better create a need supportive environment that optimizes motivation, engagement, and well-being. As such, the Center for SDT, co-founded by Drs. Richard M. Ryan and Edward L. Deci, is a non-profit organizaton created to advance the connection between theory and practical applications by promoting the dissemination of SDT through research, education, and applied practices.

Provided research assistance to director and attorneys. Tracked political organizations’ tax filings, contributions and expenditures for the 2004 presidential election. Provided general writing and editing assistance.• Financial Management: Oversaw day-to-day financial activities including accounts payable and receivable. Negotiated vendor contracts. Produced annual budget and quarterly reports for review by the Center director. Insured accurate payment of all employees and entered payroll deductions.• Conference & Events: Coordinated major conferences and press events including developing invitations and guest lists, arranging location and media needs for attending press, and manage preparation of agendas and hand-out materials. • Grant Development: Assisted in drafting grant proposals, program budgets, and reporting narratives.
