The Black Sheep has been a great learning experience for me. As a server, I've learned to up-sell cocktails and specific pairings to reach my selling goal each month. I am consistantly checking on tables in a high-volume environment to ensure all customers are satisfied with their service and meals. Additionally, I have operated numerous POS systems that allows me to checkout customers and input orders to stay organized throughout my shift. I really enjoy the fast pace and interactions I have with people each day.

I was hired as an intern to fulfill the Family Relations Coordinator role. The main focus of Sunshine Method is making sure no child is left behind in receiving a quality education by providing them with a tutor/mentorship program. I contacted families to learn more about the children and their unique personalities. Gaining these characteristics helped me find the perfect tutor to match each child’s needs. I was very excited to take on the responsibility of collecting donations for our annual Halloween Party for children in Pilsen. I contacted multiple companies such as local bakeries, Mariano’s, Pizzeria’s, and many more. The hard work paid off. The children at the event had a fantastic time enjoying donated candy, Halloween games, food, and face paintings. During the event, I posted to our social media platforms to show how much fun everyone was having and to also spread awareness about equity in education.

As a nanny I had many responsibilities. I coordinated fun trips to local parks, pools, and nature centers to stay active throughout the day. There were many occasions when I drove the child to and from school, sports practices, and games. In addition, I took her to find presents for friends who had birthday parties coming up. Preparing the gift ahead of time relieved her working parents and saved them time. When I nannied during the school year, I helped her with various subjects and projects to make sure she understood the material. I always made sure I prepared nutritious food and had good communication with her parents to understand acceptable behavior. Overall, I am so happy I had the opportunity to work with this family.

Countryside

I am thrilled to say that my time at Continental Honda as a Cashier and Receptionist is what shaped my communication and multi-tasking skills today. On a daily basis I assisted customers by scheduling service appointments, taking in deposits on new vehicles, providing hand typed receipts for record keeping, and answering phone calls. At the end of every shift I made sure electronic and cash sales transactions were balanced by comparing the detail report with the dealership’s data base program.
